Curse App is now the Twitch App!

Back in 2016, we started incorporating Twitch features into the Curse app, adding Emotes, then Twitch Video and Chat. Since 2017 began, we’ve added the ability for you to log in with your Twitch account, and merge your Twitch and Curse accounts.

Now, we’re taking our biggest step yet: the Curse app is becoming the Twitch Desktop App.

The open Beta releases today, and the Twitch Desktop App will roll out to everyone very soon.

Update: The Twitch Desktop App is rolling out to all users today, April 11th!

Want to see the changes for yourself? Head over to and check it out. Do make sure you’ve got your Curse app running when you start the Twitch Desktop App installer, because if we’re able to we’ll automate the upgrade process for you. You can also find out more about the changes coming to the Twitch Desktop App, as well as existing features you love in Curse.

As part of this change, we’re also moving this blog over to Twitch. Starting today, you can get all the news and updates on the Twitch Desktop App on

Thanks for all your support, and we’ll see you on Twitch!
