How do I use Favorites?

Every Curse account has the ability to set up their favorite addons, textures, mods, plug-ins or packs for the games that have the downloads on Curse.com.  This is a very powerful tool that maybe under used.  This feature will not only help you keep a list of what addons you like or are using, but also help you keep them updated.

Setting Up Your Favorites

You will want to locate the addon, texture, mod, plug-in or pack you want to set to a favorite.  Depending on the game and what type of modification it is (e.g. addon, texture, mod, plug-in, pack, etc.)  you can do this one of two ways.

The first way is by using the Download link > selecting the Game > then searching for the addon, texture, mod, plug-in or pack.  This way can be used for all of the addons, textures, mods, plug-ins and packs, and for those who do not use the Curse App.

The second way is through the Curse App.  If you have both the Curse App and the addon, texture, mod, plug-in or pack installed and it can be installed and maintained through the Curse App locate it in the list of your installed addons, textures, mods, plug-ins or packs, and click on the Webpage link at the bottom.  This should pull up the addon, texture, mod, plug-in or pack's Curse page.

If you have not already added the addon, texture, mod, plug-in or pack to your My Favorites you will see a button in the upper right side directly across from the addon, texture, mod, plug-in or pack's name above the download options.  The bottom will say "Add to Favorites".  If you want to add it click on this button.

Locating Your My Favorites

Once you have some addons, textures, mods, plug-ins or packs in your My Favorites you will need to know how to get to them.  This is very easy and you can access this from any page on Curse.com.

Make sure you are logged into the correct Curse account.  Then in the upper right corner you should see your username.  Mousing over that will give you your account options list.  You'll want to go to My Account.

Now click on the tab Favorites.

Have a List! Now What?

As mentioned before this can be a very powerful tool for you.

Your list can be sorted by Name, Game, and Last Updated.  If you play multiple games and just want to deal with one game's addons, textures, mods, plug-ins or packs you can also filter by game then sort.

Name - This will put your favorites in alphabetical order (ascending or descending)

Game - This will sort your favorites by their Game

Last Updated - Will sort your favorites by when it was Last Updated by the Author (ascending or descending)

Now you are wondering, "So what they can be sorted.  What good does that do me?"  Well, if you keep this list up-to-date with the addons, textures, mods, plug-ins or packs you are using you can us the Game Filter and then the Last Updated to see if there are any new updates.  You will need to remember the last time you updated then it's just is Last Update < When you last updated.

Downloading

From your Favorites you can download by clicking on the Download Now next to each addon you want to download.

Premium Users

If you have multiple addon to download or update, you can check the box next to them then go to the bottom and select Download Selected.  Then click Submit.

This will download a ccip file you can then click on and have the Curse App install/update those addons for you.

Removing Favorites

Change your mind about an addon.  Found another texture pack you like better.  A mod no longer being updated.  We have many reasons for saying good-bye to some of our favorites.  Whatever the reason the process is simple and once again more than one way.

First option, if you go to the addon, texture, mod, plug-in or pack's Curse Page you will see that the Add to Favorites has changed to Remove from Favorites.  Simply clicking on the button again will remove it from your My Favorites.

Second option, is from your Favorites List.  You can select the box next to the addons, textures, mods, plug-ins or packs you want to remove and then at the bottom select the Unfavorite Selected.
