Connection Information

If you are having connection issues you may be asked to get some information about your connection for our team to be able to assist you in what might be causing your connection issues.

Please read through the entire guide prior to starting to make sure you get everything we are needing to further assist you. 

Windows

For windows will want you to do a few things.

Click Start. Windows 8+ users start on step 2.
In the search field, type

cmd

Right-click on CMD.exe and select Run as Administrator.  This will bring up a Command Prompt window.

Enter the command:

ECHO TRACERT: > %USERPROFILE%\DESKTOP\connection.txt & Echo %DATE% %TIME% >> %USERPROFILE%\DESKTOP\connection.txt & tracert curse.com >> %USERPROFILE%\DESKTOP\connection.txt & %USERPROFILE%\DESKTOP\connection.txt & ECHO PING: >> %USERPROFILE%\DESKTOP\connection.txt & Echo %DATE% %TIME% >> %USERPROFILE%\DESKTOP\connection.txt & ping curse.com >> %USERPROFILE%\DESKTOP\connection.txt

and press Enter.

Note: If you copy the above use your right mouse button to paste into the Command Prompt and not ctrl + V. 

Allow several minutes for the traceroute and ping to complete.  You should see a new C:\User\USERNAME> in your Command Prompt.  

You will now have a file on your Desktop called connection.txt.

Close the Command Prompt window.

Next, go to https://notifications-v1.curseapp.net/ in your browser.

Note: It is best to do this using Chrome browser.

Now we need you to go to http://curse.com/cdn-cgi/trace in your browser.

Note: Please make sure you screenshots of of an image format (png, jpg, etc.) and not in a Word document as they may be denied for security purposes. 

Attach the connection.txt and the two screenshots to your ticket reply.

Mac

Go to the /Applications/Utilities folder and start the Terminal application.

Enter the command: 

traceroute -S -q 30 curse.com > ~/Desktop/connection.txt

Press Return to create a file on your Desktop called connection.txt.

Quit the Terminal application.

Next, go to https://notifications-v1.curseapp.net/ in your browser.
