Screen Sharing Overview

You ask! We heard! Now your favorite Curse App includes screen sharing features for you to share your screen with your friends and family.

Let's Get Started!

Screen casting is very easy to get started.  Once you're in a call with people you wish to share your screen with, you'll find this option in your tool bar. Near the bottom you will find a Screen Cast icon.  You will want to click on this.

You will now get to chose the type of screen casting you want to use.

Entire Screen

This will show the entire screen you select, and if you have multiple monitors you can select which one you want to screen cast.

This is good to use for:

  • Showing people how to do things that require your desktop
  • Games that have issues with streaming or screen casting software
  • To show more than one application at once
  • Show applications that the Application Window does not recognize

Application Window

This will show a specific application that is currently running on your computer.  Please be aware that not all applications will be able to screen cast.

This is good to use for:

  • Focusing on specific application you want people to see
  • Not needing to clean up your desktop to cast
  • Larger viewing screen of the specific application

Note: Some applications in Fullscreen mode do not work.  Try using Windowed Fullscreen mode instead.

Adding More

Once in a call with a friend you can add up to 3 more (total 5 people in the call). To add more click the Add to Call option (person with the + in the lower right corner).

Next search for and add up to 3 more people to your call.  You can select all at once then click DONE to invite them all.

Group Call

If you have a group with 4 or less people (not including you) you can do a screen sharing call inviting everyone in the group at once.

Note: It is 5 people total in the group; not 5 people online in the group.

In your group, locate the Call button (phone icon) in your toolbar in the upper right corner of Curse App.

Once in a call with the people you wish to share your screen with, in your tool bar near the bottom you will find a Screen Cast icon.

Stranger

To make sure you are only video chatting with people you want to - we have added in a security setting that warns you if there is someone in the chat that is not on your friends' list.  Then you can decide to continue video chatting with them or not.

You can always choose to enable video later if you change your mind.
